Nike Air Macropus Lite QS

macropus-3

Fresh from Beaverton, these Nike sneakers are somewhat of a deviancy from all other Nike kinds as some experts would opine. Released for the Winter collection, this pair features purple suede and hemp in Mexican “Zarape” blanket pattern for the upper. The same pattern is also used in the heel tab while the sole has a tan and brown colorway. Another unique feature would be the brown liner with a criss-crossing embroidery. Only Nike would think of that! The laces are inspired by boat shoe laces with the square, brown leather it uses.

This limited edition Quickstrike is available for $170.

Nike Holiday 2009 Air Magma

nike-air-magma-holiday-2009

Two more additions to Nike Air Magma Holiday 2009 collection are shown above. In bolder and brighter colorways, Nike Sportswear has released these suede beauty in light blue/pink and red /blue options. It features black lining and soles. A pretty straightforward collection that will be perfect for a cold outdoor. The new colorways will surely affect moods in the somber cold of winter. Who says you have to make do with neutrals and toned down colorways to be fashionable? Nike certainly doesn’t think so.

To be released very soon worldwide, but be ready to pay around $160 for a pair.

Customize me: Nike x Yoa Customs Edward Scissorhands

edwardscissohands-5-530x397

I personally thought this was brilliant! I have long been a fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s collaborations and seeing these just blew me away. Amazing!

I found this customized pair over at YoaKustoms. Obviously, the artist was inspired by the film and therefore went to incorporate these in his sneakers. Edward Scissorhands’ portrait looked striking but disturbing as well. Anyone familiar with the movie would say there is an eerie accuracy here that is brilliant but at the same time disconcerting because of the deep scars that resulted from Edward’s own disability. The tongue tag features a yellow butterfly which was an ubiquitous element in the movie posters.

Nike SB Blazer Premium Presents “Blood Splatter”

KD Says: For all you Twilighters and New Mooners!

Nike-SB-Blazer-Premium-Blood-Splatter

The Nike Team has done good releasing a Halloween-inspired sneakers for its October lineup. Timing is everything and for skateboarders who are fans of Nike’s design innovations, there is no better time to get this pair than soonest. This collection features a white canvas upper splattered with red blood print all over, which obviously was the basis of the label. Off-white panels in the tongue area, white shoelaces, red accents, and a gray suede for Nike logo complete the look. It sits atop a white sole with gray accents in front. Overall, it’s a clean design though not everyone would agree based on the response in fora and blogs. I guess Nike would only have to see the feedback from the sales.

The skeletal print almost looks like flowers from a far. I say it's a lil too girly ...far from its name.

Liberty of London, Meet Nike

For those who don’t know it, Liberty of London is a luxury store that’s been around for almost 150 years now. They’re best known for their patterned fabrics, and had much to do with crafting the Aesthetic style in London in the late 19th century. For more, check out here.

And why am I mentioning this now, you might reasonably ask?

It’s because they’ve just done a big makeover of the store and the website and everything. Re-branding themselves (or at least, updating their brand) for a new luxury market. The new face of Liberty opened up today in London with Freida Pinto (from Slumdog Millionaire) doing the opening honors.

Now, perk your ears up, shoe-lovers. Here’s where it gets interesting. Nike is releasing a very limited edition of sneakers in Liberty print fabrics. And if you can’t get into the store to grab yourself a pair, there’s going to be a VERY limited amount sold online starting tomorrow (aka Monday) at 10:00. That’s 10:00am, Greenwich Mean Time, which means if you’re in the USA and want a pair of these, it’s time to set your alarm for sometime in the middle of the night, since that’s 5:00am on the East Coast, and 2:00am on the West Coast.

Tempted?

More tempted now? The ones that are all one pattern are £70, and the patchwork ones are £85. Set your alarms as necessary.
