Happy St. Patrick’s Day Folks!

Are you wearing your green today? I certainly wouldn’t want to see anybody getting pinched. And why is it that this is one habit that most so-called adults that I’ve known have never outgrown? There really are few things less dignified than adults being gleefully pinched by coworkers. Oh well ….

I’m wearing my green …. My kids made certain of that. My outfit today is primarily courtesy of my four-year old son’s foray into my closet this morning. Given that knowledge, it is not nearly as cartoonish an ensemble as one might imagine.

Camilla Skovgaarrd's heels

Check out newcomer shoe designer Camilla Skovgaard and her edgy, artsy pieces. Shoemore said "What I like about her work is that each shoe is edgy, made of quality materials, and very unique. She takes boring, normal looking platforms, peep tose, or pumps and puts a ton of details (lace, skins, structure, etc) into her work.

Shoes, Champagne & Christian Louboutin

According to news, Christian Louboutin has been busy branching out lately. Louboutin is dabbling in the champagne business. This October, Christian Louboutin will launched his own champagne with champagne house Piper Heidsieck. The limited edition “Le Rituel” box set is meant to revive an old ritual in the 1880s of drinking from the shoe of a woman. The crystal stiletto designed by Christian Louboutin will carry the signature red sole and is included in this limited edition gift box set.

No word on pricing, but it will be sold through Colette.

Moschino “Money Shoe”

Call me crazy. Ridicule my taste, style & judgment. Whatever; in this instance, I don’t care. I am insanely haunted by this (admittedly) utterly impractical shoe. I have absolutely no occasion, outfit, or excuse to wear these. But, sometimes there is no conscious rationale behind our attraction to a particular shoe. So fine, I’m irrational. I think I can deal with that.

Considering the ever-increasing prices of designer shoes, Moschino’s visual pun on shoe-bling and pricey styles falls more toward art than utility. I love it. What an apt commentary on the amounts we shoe-obsessed women can be convinced to pay for a beautiful shoe-crush. This shoe is such a great bit of tongue-in-cheek irony that I would love to own it just to but it on display in its own little curio nook. It would be fun to add a hint of self-mockery to my decor - particularly since my little shoe-obsession is no secret to most of those who know me.

And, unless I am mistaken, art may be the only wise way to purchase this particuler “last pair” at Overstock; someone has apparently neglected to note the shoe size in the item description.
